Vanilla Lip Balm

This Vanilla Lip Balm is warm, soft and comforting. It's the one people reach for when they want something that feels a little indulgent. It's a nice alternative to the minty, fruity or floral alternatives.

Suits: Suitable for all skin types.

Formulator's note: This is the only product in the Sugarbush range formulated with vanilla. As a pure oil, it can be difficult to source and is often a synthetic fragrance oil or diluted in glycerol rather than a true natural oil.

What is a lip balm? A concentrated, water-free balm made from plant butter, oil and wax that seals in moisture and protects the lips, rather than a liquid or gloss in a tube.

Did you know: Vanilla is one of the most labour-intensive crops in the world. Each flower has to be hand-pollinated, as the plant's natural pollinator only exists in its native Mexico. For that reason, it is usually found as a blend with Sunflower or Jojoba oil.

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Fractionated Coconut) Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Fruit Extract in Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).

Please note: the use of beeswax makes this balm unsuitable for Vegans.

Apply with clean fingertips. Reapply as needed.

A gentle note on care: For external use only. Avoid direct eye contact and application to the mucous membranes or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Not suitable for children under the age of 3.

While Sugarbush balms have been carefully formulated to be heat stable, keep yours somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight — it’s mostly butter and oils. If it starts to soften in the hotter months, a short spell in the fridge will firm it back up. The blog has more info on managing anhydrous cosmetics in the heat.

For the best scent and texture, use within 6 months of opening.
